Perfecting Educational Output (PEO) is an educational platform with a twist. Just out of interest the "PEO" word has yet another significant meaning in various African languages which means "A Seed".
The PEO platform was born with the aim to support and supplement the South African educational system and bring more practicality into what the children are learning at school, from the formal curriculum.
The current way of schooling is seemingly fast paced. With the advancement of technology, a lot of positive has been experienced. Information is a lot more accessible and "cross pollination" of knowledge is now better than in the past.
The downside to some of the fast-paced life our children find themselves in is that the good of the old way of learning the practicalities is left to imagination and "to learn on the go"…
PEO programs are ran in association with Grooming The Executive' Junior Giant (#GTEJnrGiant). The program that encourages young people to use their natural (God-given) talents as a foundation, to design their future. It is also important to emphasize that PEO Program is based on Christian believes and practices Christianity throughout.
PEO offers the following services
1. Academic Support: Extra teaching support for learners who may be struggling with certain subjects or have fallen behind for one reason or the other. PEO offers academic support in the following curriculum:
2. Career Guidance:Providing pupils with information regarding possible career choices has to be part of the offerings by schools, it is unfortunately not always the case.
Career Guidance is deemed critical by PEO and it is encouraged that pupils be introduced to a wide spectrum of possible opportunities, as early as possible and make informed decisions as they make subject choices, especially as they get closer to Grade 12.
3. Extra Mural Activities: OSome of the best lessons learned in the olden days were taught in school premises, but outside the classroom. These were known as Extra Mural Activities (EMAs).
Practical and critical life skills were learned through EMA. These skills also married the classroom theory with the day-to-day practical activities. To some extend, EMA enhanced “common sense” I.e knowing how to use the road as either a pedestrian or a motor cyclist and observe the rules of the road, knowing how to start a vegetable garden etc
Through this offerings PEO aims to bridge the gap between formal education curriculum and practical solutions of day-to-day living.
